McMillian

"Transforming the 100-year-old McMillan property in Northwest Washington into a model 21st century community is a special opportunity. The site has been vacant for many years and the opportunity is before us to integrate the site back to the community. The District of Columbia, the community, and the Vision McMillan Partners development team (led by EYA, Jair Lynch Development Partners, and Trammel Crow Company) are working together to create a new destination for both area residents and new arrivals. Significant historic preservation, new homes, offices, parks large and small, retail stores, and cultural spaces will come together on the site. Rain gardens, green roofs, playfields, and landscaped walkways are being designed to enrich everyday life, and will incorporate the property’s unusual historical features, making a place that is uniquely McMillan. The project will combine historic preservation and large, high-quality open spaces with economic development that provides jobs, retail offerings, housing, and amenities to the community. The plans are ambitious, the expectations high. World-class architects and planners have utilized their expertise combined with consistent community input to develop a world-class preservation and development plan. This is a rare opportunity to preserve and enhance a unique urban place in our nation’s capital – and to return a long-neglected landmark to the community. McMillan will be transformed into an innovative, historic destination that enhances its neighborhood and distinguishes new development in the District." For more goto Envision McMillian.
